American Sons WHITE Long

#VeteranReconnection Tour

Where the film ends - the conversation begins.

#VeteranReconnection

The transition from combat to civilian life is one of the most critical passages a veteran will face. Traditional outreach often can’t reach the veterans who need it most.

American Sons does.

The American Sons Veteran Reconnection Tour is a 15-city national initiative bringing free screenings of the award-winning PBS documentary to communities across America – paired with a facilitated veteran reconnection workshop that creates something rare: a room where veterans, Gold Star families, and communities finally face it together.

Film Screening + Workshop Series

Each city stop is a 3-hour experience:

The Screening

American Sons plays in full, creating immediate emotional access and opening the door to conversations that rarely happen anywhere else.

The Workshop

Led by the American Sons team, a Gold Star family member, and veteran-serving partners, the structured reconnection workshop invites veterans and families to share experiences, build peer connections, and identify resources

– in a safe, facilitated space designed specifically for them.

The Workbook

Every participant leaves with a take-home workbook, tools and resources to keep the conversation going long after the lights come back on.

These aren’t passive screenings.

They are spaces where veterans tell the truth – often for the first time.
